This year we will be offering section members an opportunity to go rock climbing and scrambling on the May long weekend (Saturday May 20 and Sunday May 21, 2017). We will be based out of the Canmore area.
THIS TRIP IS BEGINNER FRIENDLY. No prior climbing or scrambling experience is required. The trip is currently capped at 20 participants and leaders. (Participant number may increase).
Participants will be responsible for their own accommodations. When we let you know you are on the trip we will try to offer accommodation suggestions.
Participants are responsible for renting their own climbing shoes which can be done at MEC in Calgary or Gear Up in Canmore. Participants are also responsible for renting their own harness, carabiner/ATC, helmet. The club has a limited number of harnesses and helmets available at no cost to participants on a first come first served basis.
Travel and Food
Participants are responsible for their own transportation to Canmore and to the climbing areas. People will typically carpool with other participants and this is usually arranged in the weeks leading up to the trip.
