You don’t need any experience to take this course, but it is a must for everyone recreating in the backcountry.
Whether you ski, snowshoe, ice climb, or snowmobile, AST 1 is the first step to travelling safely in the backcountry.

In an AST 1, you’ll learn how to recognize avalanche terrain, understand the avalanche forecast, plan your trips, and perform a companion rescue. AST 1 is two days and has both online and field components. We added a bonus ski day for those that want to make the most of the weekend.

This course is run by Alpine Air Adventures.

The date for the online/Zoom component is to be determined.

Field day is set for December 14, 2024 and will be in the Lake Louise area.

A bonus ski day is set for December 15, 2024.
