Join us for a week of instruction and fun at the Section’s Mountaineering Camp.

This camp is mainly of interest to aspiring mountaineers wishing to expand their skills and experience and for those who have never done anything like this before and want a low-pressure environment in which to try it out.

Experienced leaders provide instruction and lead daily excursions to objectives in the area.  Objectives range from glacier-accessed peaks, some scrambles as well as extensive opportunities for glacier travel. Although peaks will be climbed, the most important objective is for participants to learn and practice safe mountaineering skills that they will be able to use later.

It is expected that participants will be in good physical condition and comfortable hiking and climbing in rugged, often exposed, terrain.

Past camps have taken place in areas including Little Yoho Valley, Wapta Icefield and the Northern Selkirks.
